ABOUT BIG’S FARM

-A letter from the founder of BIG’S FARM

I grew up cradled by the rhythms of the land, where each sunrise whispered lessons of grit and possibility. My mother, a woman of quiet strength and boundless courage, became my first teacher. After losing my father in the 90s, she transformed grief into action, nurturing our family through the soil of our small farm. With no formal education but a wealth of determination, she began by growing vegetables in our backyard—a humble act that fed both our bodies and my lifelong passion for farming.

By the time I was old enough to wield a hoe, I’d rush from school to the fields, learning that every weed pulled and seed sown was a stitch in the fabric of our survival. My mother’s struggles with open-field farming—battling erratic rains, scorching heat, and financial strain—etched into me a question: How could we grow more with less?

The answer took shape as a dream: a greenhouse. A controlled environment where technology met tradition, where water was cherished, and where the whims of weather couldn’t dictate our fate. In 2016, I immersed myself in greenhouse studies, determined to honor my mother’s wisdom while embracing innovation.

In early 2020, as the world braced for uncertainty, I harvested a different kind of hope: my first 8×40 greenhouse, bursting with red and yellow peppers. That small structure wasn’t just a shelter for crops—it was proof that vision, paired with sweat, could rewrite a family’s story.

Today, Big’s Farm stands as a testament to my mother’s legacy and a laboratory for the future. We merge soil and sensors, tradition and tech, to cultivate not just food but trust—ensuring every bite is safe, sustainable, and steeped in purpose. My journey from a farmboy to an agricultural innovator is a reminder: even the smallest seed, tended with love, can grow roots strong enough to hold a community.
